Es war einmal ein liebenswürdiger junger Mann namens Tod

Er war der Mann, der die traurige Aufgabe hatte, die Seelen der Menschen für immer zu nehmen

Er war immer traurig, da sein Beruf ihm niemals erlaubte, Freunde zu haben Eines Tages sagte sein Herr, der König des Todes, zu ihm: ''Tod, geh, geh und töte die Prinzessin des Schlosses im Wald."

Also ging der Tod, um seine Pflicht zu erfüllen; aber als er zum Schloss kam, und zum Schlafzimmer der Prinzessin flog, fand er eine wunderschöne junge Frau.

Ihr Haar war wie der Nachthimmel und ihre Augen waren so grün wie Smaragde.
